Every day is a great day to whip up a batch of cornbread- and THIS easy southern cornbread is by far my favorite of all of the recipes I’ve tried!
It is ultra moist and flavorful, not to mention highly addictive! I don’t think that I could ever stop with just one slice- in fact, I’m sure of it. Mmmmmm….
Deliciousness aside, another reason to love this cornbread recipe is that it is based on a cornbread mix! That means that you can toss together your ingredients in no time at all.
And while I like the cornbread mix version as it is, adding the sour cream and cream of corn to this recipe takes this recipe to legendary status! This is the cornbread recipe is about to make you a hero to your family and friends! It’s just THAT good.
How to Make the BEST Cornbread:
Let’s get down to it. Once you’ve preheated your oven and prepared a 9×13 pan or dish, it’s time to start combining the ingredients. And this is gonna be quick.
First, combine a couple of boxes of Jiffy Cornbread Mix, sour cream, cream of corn, oil, eggs, and sugar. With that list of ingredients, it’s no wonder that this is such a moist recipe. And that’s it. That’s all there is to it. (You have no excuse not to make this recipe- it doesn’t get any easier!)
After the ingredients are well combined, pour into your 9×13 pan or dish and bake at 350 for about 30 minutes or until the top begins to brown and a toothpick can be inserted and comes out clean or with just a few crumbs attached.
After cooling a bit, it’s time to slice your cornbread and try really hard not to eat the whole batch. We dove into this pile of cornbread as soon as we took these photos, haha.
All stacked up!
This is truly the world’s best cornbread. If you love cornbread, this is going to become your new favorite recipe—and if you don’t love cornbread, this is the recipe that’s going to make you a believer!
- 2 Boxes Jiffy Cornbread Mix
- 3 eggs
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 Tablespoon sugar
- 8 oz. sour cream (we use full fat)
- 8 oz. can cream of corn
- Spray 9x13 baking dish are preheat oven to 350 degrees
- Mix your ingredients together and pour into dish. Bake for approximately 30 minutes or until the top begins to brown & a toothpick comes out clean or with just a few crumbs attached.
I have halved this recipe, and when I do this, I go ahead and use 2 eggs. Still perfect! Just use a smaller baking pan or dish and adjust the time accordingly as it may take less time to bake (depending on the thickness of the cornbread).
