How to Make Peanut Butter Rice Krispies Treats
First, take out a large pot and melt a 1/2 cup of butter on low heat (make sure not to brown the butter!).
Once the butter has melted, stir in 10 cups of mini marshmallows with a spoon or spatula coated in a thin layer of butter or shortening in order to make in non-stick. In addition, add vanilla and a pinch of salt. Stir the marshmallow mixture on low heat until melted.
Afterwards, add a cup of peanut butter and continue to stir it into the marshmallow mixture until fully combined and smooth. (Sorry no picture of this step- I totally forgot!)
Then, add the Rice Krispies cereal to the mixture, folding it in with a spatula that is still coated in butter or vegetable shortening until well combined.
Use your spatula or spoon to fill a lightly greased 9×13 pan with your Rice Krispies mixture, spreading and pressing it in. It will take about an hour for it to cool down and set up.
For the chocolate drizzle, melt your mixture of chocolate chips and oil in 15 second increments in a microwave until fully melted (make sure not to burn it!).
Once it has melted, fill up a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with a corner snipped off with the chocolate mixture and drizzle away!
Once the chocolate has set up (if you can stand to wait those additional minutes), dive right in! You won’t be disappointed- these peanut buttery Rice Krispies Treats aren’t going to last long. Whip up a batch today 🙂
